How to use Yasmin
The ideal way to use Yasmin is to follow the instructions of your doctor. An alternative way is to check the medicine label for dosage instructions.

Yasmin if taken during the first 24 hours of period can even let you not use any other birth control pills.
If yasmin is to be started you may also need to take an other form of pill for 7 days.
Yasmin should/may be taken with or without a meal to avoid stomach problems.
Take Yasmin at the same time every day, not more than 2 hours apart. After taking the last pill in the pack, start taking the first pill from a new pack the very next day.

Yasmin should be taken with a full glass of water.

Yasmin should be swallowed whole taking care that you do not crush or chew it before swallowing it.

Preferably, Yasmin should be taken at the same time each day to help maintain a regular routine for taking it.

You must not stop taking Yasmin without consulting your doctor even if you attain relief after a short while post starting treatment.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Yasmin is a female hormonal progesterone and estrogen combination. Its mode of action is through ovulation and thus thickening cervix.

Missed Dose

It is important that you maintain a strict schedule for taking Yasmin to ensure that you do not miss any doses. But if you do, then you may take it as soon as you remember provided that you space out the next dosage accordingly.

On the other hand, if it is almost time for the next dose, then omit this dose and continue with your normal dosage schedule.

Never consume two doses to compensate for a missed dosage.
