How to use Lipitor

The ideal way to use Lipitor is to follow the instructions of your doctor. An alternative way is to check the medicine label for dosage instructions.

Lipitor may be taken with or without a meal.

Overdose

Some of the mild but common side effects of Lipitor are gas stomach pain or cramps, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, headache, blurred vision, dizziness, rash or itching, upset stomach.

On the other hand, Lipitor may also cause some severe side effects like muscle cramps or weakness with or without a fever especially if accompanied by a fever or flulike symptoms or yellowing of the skin or eyes, abdominal pain, unexplained fatigue, dark colored urine or pale colored stools, an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); decreased urine or rust-colored urine; orblurred vision.
