Acticin cream is used for treating scabies.
However, your doctor may also prescribe the drug for other conditions if found appropriate.

How to use Acticin:

The ideal way to use Triphala is to follow the instructions of your doctor. An alternative way is to check the medicine label for dosage instructions. Thoroughly massage into the skin from the head to the soles of the feet. It is not necessary to put the medicine on the scalp except in children and older patients.

Remove the medicine by washing after 8 to 14 hours.

You may experience itching after treatment. This is not a sign of treatment failure. However if living mites are seen after 14 days, retreatment is necessary.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Acticin.
You must not stop taking the drug without consulting your doctor even if you attain relief after a short while post starting treatment.

Drug Class and Mechanism:

It works by killing the scabies mite (Sarcoptes scabiei).

Missed Dose:
It is important that you maintain a strict schedule for taking the drug to ensure that you do not miss any doses. But if you do, then you may take it as soon as you remember provided that you space out the next dosage accordingly.
If you miss a dose of Acticin, use it as soon as you remember.

Continue to use it as directed by your doctor.
Never consume two doses to compensate for a missed dosage.

Storage:
Store Acticin between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C).

Store away from heat, moisture, and light.

Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Acticin out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Most drugs have some kind of side effects associated with them. However, most people do not experience them at all or experience just mild side effects which subside as the body adjusts to the medicine.

Some of the mild but common side effects of the drug are itching; mild burning or stinging; redness; swelling.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur: severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Acticin is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
